On the outskirts of San José just a 10 minutes' drive from Juan Santamaria International Airport Wyndham San Jose Herradura offers 3 outdoor pools and a casino. The air-conditioned rooms have satellite TV. There is a free shuttle from the hotel to the airport. The centre of San José is about 15 minutes’ drive away. “Please be very aware. This hotel is not a resort! The photos online of this hotel are not even remotely close to the actual hotel. The hotel is very run down. You can tell the owner has not put any money towards the upkeep! The pool mini bar was closed and the pool was dirty. The jacuzzi was lukewarm and the entire pool deck needed to be retiled. There was little to no water pressure in the room and the “garden view” was non existent. The toilet didn’t flush properly and the water in the sink was hand automated (VERY ANNOYING) and was extremely cold!! There were only about 5 channels on TV and the remote control did not work properly. The items in the gift shop were quadruple times the cost and the food in the hotel lounge was disgusting. The only good thing I can honestly think of was the gym and the staff who were friendly and very helpful.

“I loved it here! I especially love the ladies at the cafe downstairs. The coffee is delicious! They also have a variety of cakes, but I tried to stay away from the sugar. There is a restaurant and bar and a casino. They also have a little gift shop in the lobby and I fell in love with the handmade jewelry they have there.”
