“2-Star Accommodations at 5-Star Prices This hotel was recommended by our high school reunion committee so we thought we would be getting a deal on the price, but we paid $180 per night plus taxes and fees for the two nights we were there.At that price, I expected superior accommodations but we were very disappointed.When we arrived, the temperature in our room was very cold (61 degrees), the toilet kept making noise all night due to a leaky flapper valve, and the bathroom sink was very slow to drain.I reported the toilet and sink problems to the desk manager the next morning and was told these problems would be corrected.They were not.Furthermore, our sheets and towels were not changed and the room was not freshened by the maid for our second night.We were later told that because of COVID-19, there was only one maid to service the entire hotel.If that's true, how well was our room cleaned before we arrived?Also, there was no breakfast available, only coffee in the lobby and no shuttle service to the airport, also because of cutbacks due to COVID-19.We understand why services were reduced due to COVID-19, but we should not have paid full price for services that were not available.I've had much better accommodations and service staying at hotels that charged less than $100 per night.If you're planning a trip to the Dayton, Ohio area, you're sure to find better hotels for the money than the Hilton Garden Inn of Beavercreek.”
