“Not a hotel I'd stay at again. Positives ----------- - Great buffet breakfast + friendly staff at breakfast. - Fitness room with decent equipment and helpful staff (thought the place felt somewhat dirty) - The beach is tiny but you can easily swim under the rope to the hotel next door, which has a long beach with decent snorkelling Negatives ------------- - The reception staff were very surly, and made us feel unwelcome from the moment we arrived. The only time we got a smile out of any of them was when we checked out. - There was a sporadic smell of exhaust fumes throughout the entire hotel complex. It penetrated our room, the reception area, and the pool areas. I suspect it came from the shuttle bus that went back and forth across the hotel complex every 1/2 hour and spewed a voluminous stink with every pass. But maybe it was coming off boats at the beach or from the airport. Whatever the source, it was unpleasant. - The room had an ashtray, it wasn't clear if it was non-smoking or not, we were never asked if we want a non-smoking room. Make sure you ask for one if you care though assume all rooms have been smoked in as everyone smokes everywhere in Egypt. - We were initially given only 1 bottle of drinking water for 2 people for 2 days. When I asked for more, I was told at first that I'd have to pay. Only when I pointed out that 1 bottle was not enough for 2 people, did they relent and deliver us 2 bottles for the second day. This is in contrast to the other hotel we stayed at in Sharm where we were provided with a bottle per person per day, no questions asked. The tap water is an undrinkable brown liquid. - The hotel is a sprawling complex built on a slope. Upon arrival, we were taken to our room in an electric club car. The friendly driver told us that we could call reception any time we wanted to go anywhere, and they'd send us a club car. Well, that evening we decided to go out and called for the club car. Reception said they'd send one. When it didn't come for 20 minutes, I called back to tell them to cancel it as we could just walk. They insisted that they were sending one and we should wait. Another 20 minutes went by and I called again to cancel. This time they cancelled it but said we should have just taken the shuttle that goes every 1/2 hour. We didn't actually know anything about the shuttle as they don't give you any information on their services or facilities when you check in nor was there an info sheet in the rooms. And when we tried to take the 8am shuttle the next morning, it never showed up. - The beach is tiny with loungers jammed one next to the other that fill up quickly in the morning (there is plenty of space higher up the cliffs if you don't want to be at sea level) - We visited at the beginning of January and were bombarded with Christmas music at every turn.”

“We were checked into this hotel by Pegasus airlines after cancelling our flight to Istanbul on the night of the earthquake. We stayed for two nights. The hotel is too big it reminded me of boarding school times. Meal times feels like a whole community has come to eat in one place. Sometimes you have to wait for a table or wait outside the dinning. There is always a line by the food area no matter what time you come. I did not chose this hotel but I just felt it was a bit chaotic. Staff at the reception were nice and the waiters were nice too. In general I would go back on a good budget holiday.”
