Opened in 2014 the non-smoking Residence Inn has 116 studio one- and two-bedroom suites in a four-floor building with colorful contemporary interiors. Suites all come with full kitchens plush beds desks iPod docks free Wi-Fi flat-panel TVs with premium cable and sitting areas with sofa beds. Hot waffles top the menu at the free breakfast also featuring a rotating selection of scrambled eggs bacon biscuits and gravy potatoes fruit yogurt and more. On weeknights (M-Th) the hotel offers a free reception with a light supper beer wine and soft drinks. Soak in the Florida sun and then take a swim in the freeform outdoor pool surrounded by lush landscaping palm trees and a deck with lounge chairs and covered tables. The hotel also has an outdoor patio barbecue grills fitness room grocery shopping service business center coin-op laundry and on-site parking. Up to two pets per room are allowed for a one-time fee. The Residence Inn is right off I-75 next to the Gulf Coast Town Center mall. Florida Gulf Coast University is a mile south. Jet Blue Park (Boston Red Sox) is five miles north and Hammond Stadium (Minnesota Twins) is seven miles northwest. The center of Fort Myers is about 14 miles northwest and features the Imaginarium Science Center and Edison and Ford Winter Estates. If you're coming from Southwest Florida International Airport the hotel is four miles southwest.

“The Inn is approaching a decade old, and is in need of significant renovations. Currently using Covid as an excuse to eliminate hot breakfast and evening social, even though Drury Inn next door has both. Newspapers have been discontinued. Laundry room prices have increased. TV programming is antiquated, and reception is unreliable particularly during a rain. Front desk staff is undertrained. Staff does not enforce mask requirement. Housekeeping, however, is excellent.”
