“We booked a terrace room here about a month before staying and when we arrived, we were advised that we couldn't stay in a terrace room as the floor was being renovated. This was the main reason we booked this hotel was due to the large terrace space. I understand that renovations are the priority, however the fact that I was not informed of this until I was checking is was bad. I was then offered an "upgrade" to a higher floor (without a terrace) at "no extra cost". However when I originally booked the terrace room, it was the most expensive room on offer and I was not interested in staying on a high floor as it was not my priority, it was more the space we needed. We were then offered 2 rooms joining each other, this was a good compromise as it had the space we needed, however we wasted a few hours checking in which was stressful.
The ladies checking us in were lovely but some of them were new so we had to wait to speak to a manager to ask some basic questions. I believe that a little more training and guidance for new staff is essential to customer satisfaction.
The buffet breakfast was premium and substantial. The barista coffee was wonderful. The freshly made omelettes were a nice touch too.
Room service was great and efficient.
The room was clean overall however it looked like the floors hadn't been mopped as there was some liquid on the entrance floor.
Valet parking was quick and the guy was nice.
The hotel is nicely renovated.
Water pressure is good and water is hot hot hot!
Overall we had a lovely stay here, would've been a 10/10 if we were given the heads up about our room change in advance.”
