The Ivens Hotel, Lisbon

The Ivens Hotel

The Ivens Hotel was home to the first luxury warehouse in the city in the XIX century as well as of the first Portuguese public. The iconic building is in every way representative of the XIX century, a period which has marked the spirit and culture of Lisbon. The hotel has 87 unique and comfortable rooms, of which ten are spacious suites including two signature top floor suites. The entrance was mapped to resemble the journey of Ivens and Capelo, two of greatest Portuguese explorers to unveil Africa back on the XIX century. The hotel holds three cinematic dining areas designed by Lázaro Rosa Violan who offer a journey through Italian cuisine, al fresco dining and a "Barra" area.

“Truly an amazing experience and stay in Lisbon. The staff, front desk and hospitality was on point and and the entire hotel was well operated. Very clean and even pleasant poo-pourri. Highly recommend visiting the beautiful bar, the bartenders were very helpful and the drinks were lit! Great ambiance.”

“The location is great, but I was not a huge fan of this hotel. My "city view room" was a first floor room that looked directly into the wall of another building. I felt like I was treated as a child compared to guests that were older, maybe they assumed I was not a big spender because of my age. The rooms were nice enough and the beds were comfortable, but the service was off-putting to say the least.”
