“We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay in Barcelo Torre de Madrid at the beginning of May. From the moment we arrived and we were greeted by the concierge, the service was exemplary. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. A special mention to the very helpful reception lady who checked us in to our rooms and explained everything about the hotel to us.The room (402) was stunning, with a modern and light decor. The view of the city of Madrid from our balcony was phenomenal. The room was very clean & tidy and serviced to a high standard each day. The shower was amazing. Our only small criticism of the room was that one of the hooks in the bathroom for towels was coming lose, and the socket on the wall by the kettle was coming lose.The hotel is situated on Plaza Espana which also features a lovely green space, great for evening walks. The hotel is located within easy walking distance of most of Madrid's main attractions. We regularly availed of the beautiful refreshing swimming pool situated on the 8th floor. After a long day exploring Madrid it was a lovely way to refresh for the evening. Note: you must book a slot and wear a swimming hat. We also took the opportunity to indulge in a lovely massage provided by the hotel.We ate in the hotel restaurant, Somos, on more than one occasion, and each time we were served by the lovely waiter, whose name we believe was Anton. He was very friendly and exceptionally good at his job. The food we had was very tasty. The breakfast provided at the hotel was wonderful. There was a wide variety of choice from salads, to fresh fruit and cooked food to churros & bakery items. The juices available were refreshing too, particularly the peach juice. On our last morning at breakfast we met a lovely manageress who was very courteous & professional and made us feel valued as guests.Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel, and should we return to Madrid this hotel would be our number one choice.”
