“Nice hotel with a nice fitness center in the basement. Lobby was under construction while I was there, so it should be really nice in a few months. The rooms are overall nice and stylishly furnished. Those who appreciate that will probably like it. For my business travel need it wasn't as nice as a business hotel. The sink is cool looking, but at 1" deep not very functional. Also, there are no chairs in the room, just a booth-style seat with a table next to it. Not great for working on a laptop. Still, a nice enough hotel to warrant 3.5-4 stars for me.”

“This was our fourth year at The James. Always a relaxing, comfortable getaway with friendly, helpful staff. We love the atmosphere and the location is excellent. Yes, we heard middle of the night sirens. It's a city! Looking forward to next year. We realized two weeks later we had left a jacket behind. The hotel staff confirmed our stay and had record of our missing jacket which will be shipped to us. Impressive!”
